Mexikito Imports is a Latina-owned business created by Maria’s passion for travel and art. As a pioneer of fair prices, Maria does business differently by putting the artisans first and ensuring that every purchase made has a direct positive impact on the life of the artisan. Maria and the Artisans work together to agree on a price that provides vital income. 

Maria chooses to work exclusively with families often excluded from the global economy like women and people with disabilities.  Inspired by her mother, Avelina’s, example, Maria knows that when women gain financial independence, their daughters, families and communities flourish, thus ending a cycle of oppression and poverty.
